I finally have a moment to blog about Maryanna! She is my first Siberian client and a super natural in
front of the camera.
The most successful photo shoots are a product of a symbiotic effort between the subject and the photographer.
In my experience, the best shot never happens on frame one, rarely ever happens on frame two. Direction is key.
Taking a moment to close their eyes and tune back helps. Then, momentum builds. And symbiosis takes place and
the poses become more organic and the subject is free to be more creative.
It bears mentioning again that I love directing photo shoots. I love what breathing exercises and memory recall can do
to bring on a mood. Sometimes, it just takes closing your eyes and remembering your favorite vacation spot.
For me, Paris, France!
Maryanna was a bit nervous on the set. (Who can tell from her photos?!) and having her do something physical like bending
at her waist, letting her weight drop and flip her head back really rebooted her mood.
And the results are beautiful!
